Here at Carousel Horse Farm I've spent my first Christmas in three years right here in Maine. We had a wonderful time offering carriage tours in Freeport from October through New Year's Eve with a short break in November to purchase some new harness and other equipment. It has been a great experience and we've opened up a lot of new event venues!
Now we are gearing up to head southwest and look for new territory to offer carriage rides. The new trailer I bought for this purpose can carry one horse, the carriage, tools and tack and has a small living quarters. This time around though, we are planning to take the car!! So that we can explore all the areas we'd like to see! This will be a fun adventurous winter and I hope these blogs will be fun for everyone to read. I will add pictures too!
I have had many requests for drafts and draft crosses this year. Maybe the ecomomy is getting better? Since I have a background in selling these types of horses and since I am currently trying to purchase two more myself, I will gladly share all the animals that I'm considering with you. I can buy them on my trip or buy them as an agent for you! Either way, we'll have fun exploring the southwest and its horses!!
But don't worry! We plan to be back next season in Freeport with our carriage starting in May and running right through New Year's Eve of 2012!
Here you will find mostly information about my business directly but many of my blogs on my blogger page "The Wicked Whimsical Ramblings of a Maine Business Woman" will be about all aspects of women in business, Maine business, the equine industry , travel, my dreams of building a renewable resource farm and family. Not to mention a few fireside stories of my life.
